The Protein

As well as being low-carbohydrate our bread also boasts a high protein content. A 60g slice of our loaves contains 18g of protein which is similar to the amount of protein found in some protein-bars of a similar weight and nearly the same amount of protein as half a scoop of whey protein (you gym goers will know). 


Protein is important to increase muscle mass and strength. Keeping protein intake high can also help prevent muscle loss during weight loss. Similar to this, a high consumption of protein is a great way to prevent age-related muscle loss too. 


As well as its muscle-building benefits, protein is also the most filling of all the macronutrients. Studies state this is down to the fact that protein reduces the hunger hormone and boosts other hormones that make you feel full. The ‘full’ feeling may also help prevent craving from occurring too.
